[c=#2dba69]Elyra's Diary - Part 1
The Awakened Breath[/c]

[c=#e3aaeb]3rd Duskveil, Year 342 of the Era of Remembrance[/c]

Ten years since Kael died, and ten years I've refused to bury what he told me before he left.
"There is a knowledge the living shouldn't possess, Elyra. But if there's an exception... it's us."

I never understood that sentence. Until tonight.

I crossed paths with an undead on the road - one more, I didn't even pay attention anymore. But when my weapon struck it, the ankh around my neck began to burn. Not a pleasant warmth. A sharp pain, like a reminder.

A bluish light escaped from the collapsing body. Faint, flickering, but recognizable - the same color that surrounded Kael, the last time I saw him alive.

A voice, barely more than a whisper in my mind:
"You came. The bond isn't broken."

I didn't have time to ask anything. The light went out as quickly as it had appeared.

But I know now that Kael didn't just leave me grief. He left me a trail - scattered, fragmented, hidden in things that shouldn't carry it.

I don't know how many fragments I'll need. I don't know what I'll find at the end.
But I know that other undead, crossed by chance on my travels, might carry a little of what Kael wanted to pass on to me before he vanished.

I'm going to find them. All of them. Until his voice tells me it's enough.
