[c=#2dba69]Elyra's Diary - Part 4
The Final Silence[/c]

[c=#e3aaeb]19th Moonfall, Year 342 of the Era of Remembrance[/c]

The encounters have come faster these last few days, as if something, on the other side, sensed that I was nearing the end.

One of them, just before collapsing, breathed something I didn't understand right away:
"You already carry what you seek."

I almost ignored it. But that night, emptying my bag for the hundredth time, my fingers found a dark, dense, silent shard - an object I had been carrying since the very first day, since before that very first undead on the road. I had never really looked at it. I thought it was a trinket, one more keepsake from Kael.

"The ancients called it the Star of the Last Breath."

It is neither a key nor a trophy. It is a crystallized memory - cold, simple, and yet heavy with everything I went through to reach it.

"It only activates once everything has been heard. It is not here to be used. It is here to answer."

I never truly knew how many fragments I needed. I never had a count to keep. But tonight, for the first time in ten years, I'm no longer afraid of what Kael wanted to tell me.

I know what's left to do: find a grave still inhabited by a powerful soul, a glow unlike any other - blue, like the one that escaped from that first creature, like Kael's own.
Not to throw it. Not to set it down. To hold it out, with faith, against that grave, and wait for my brother to answer me one last time.

I am no longer a traveler collecting relics.
I am his sister, and I have come at last to claim what he promised me before he died.
