[c=#2dba69]The Erdos Fragments - Part 3
The Listening Grave[/c]

[c=#a8c8e8]Long ago, I believed only words remained. Then I placed my hand on a nameless grave. And it answered me.[/c]

That day, there was no wind, no sound. Nothing but stone, covered in old leaves.
When my fingers brushed its surface, something vibrated. It wasn't a voice. It was a listening - not mine. Its own.

Since then, I no longer look at graves the same way. Some truly sleep. Others still listen, open to frequencies our ordinary words can no longer carry.

I took my flute, and tried to speak to them differently. Not with voice, not with words - with intervals, with silences set in motion.
I eventually recovered, fragment by fragment, the first notes of a sequence older than myself. I never heard it in full.
But I know it waits for a precise place to be played - a place I was never able to name clearly, even after all these years.

If you have consumed the fragments before this one, you are close to the point where I stopped.
One step further, and perhaps you will hear what I never managed to play to the end.
